Texting is a very easy method of flirting as it removes the face-to-face contact and the need to think up witty responses in a fraction of a second! Text flirting can be a great way to boost your love life. After you first swap numbers, texting can be a great first contact – ask them to text you. Here’s a few ideas to help you get the most fun from flirting by text!

Here are some more things to bear in mind when text flirting:
- Make sure you use the right number – obvious perhaps, but sending flirty texts to your aunt by mistake might become just a teensy bit embarrassing.
- Start with a blank text, rather than using the ‘reply’ option, and only select your recipient when you’ve finished writing your message – that way it doesn’t matter if you hit the ’send’ button by mistake!
- Time your responses carefully. If you reply at once you might come across as needy, but leave it more than 24 hours or so and they’ll think you’re not interested. Delaying your response until the next morning can be effective in building attraction: being difficult to reach creates a hint of exclusivity!
- One the subject of timing – don’t bother texting at 3am: it just means you’re a drunk bum. Text when you know they’re on their morning tea break and you’ll come across as someone that they’re likely to want to know!
- Text flirting is one time when length does matter: don’t just text ‘hi’ – surely you aren’t so boring that you can’t think of something to ask them or tell them! Don’t make it too long though – a quick love note is more fun to read thanscrolling through pages and pages!
- Avoid being boring: pick subjects that will raise feeling in the recipient. Cheeky questions, sexy hints or suggestions for a future date etc. will help to move things along. Keep it light hearted – text flirting is all about having fun. Ask open questions (questions that require more than a simple yes or no).
- Avoid fancy acronyms – if you write your message in plain language there’s less chance of it being misinterpreted!
- If a text makes you laugh let them know – flirting is all about getting in touch with emotions and ghaving some fun after all!
