How to escape the friend zone – part 1

Before we proceed: escaping the friend zone is not easy – and you may lose the friendship that you share. There are many other women out there now, waiting for you to discover them. If you are willing to take the risk though, here are some options.

Part 1 – Get your own feelings sorted

Remember that women are controlled by how you make them feel So far you make them feel like a friend; you need to make them feel like a lover. If you want to escape the friend zone then you need to act like a lover. Probably best not to change your actions overnight – that will just freak her out.

1. Step back – don’t see each other for a while. Remember the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder”? Not seeing her forĀ  few weeks will make her want you more, and it will give you the opportunity to practice some of these ideas before you put them into action. The deeper you are into the friend zone, the longer you should leave it. I know of a few couples who have been friends since childhood – but they only became lovers after not seeing each other at all for several years!

It might seem counter-intuitive, but turning her down, “I’m busy that day”, once in a while if she asks you out might not be a bad thing!

2. Think of her as a woman, not a friend. If she’s a friend in your mind, you’ll treat her like a friend too – and shell see you as a friend in return. Reframe: think of her as a woman. Be a gentleman and treat her like a woman. Open doors and pull out chairs for her. Give her the occasional compliment. Offer her your arm when you’re walking, and walk on the outside of the curb. Don’t overdo it though – you’re a red-blooded man, not a boy scout after all!

3. Change yourself. If you want her to see you differently, consider changing something about yourself. Perhaps a new haircut or wardrobe?
